Gearhardt, Comer enter state bowling hall of fame
First week, first 300. Don Jordan put the perfect 12, or should I say the not-so-perfect 12, together last Wednesday night in Little's MixMasters to record his second career 300 game."I was pretty nervous," said Jordan, who is the local USBC association president. "I went high Brooklyn in the ninth frame. The 10th was a little iffy, like the one in the ninth, but the 11th was a good shot.
"The one in the 12th was a little high, but I tripped the 4-pin."
The rest of Jordan's night was like the last four frames of his perfect game — iffy.
"Things did not go well," said Jordan. "I finished with a 157 and a 172 for a 629 series."
"Steffani (Bruce) said at least I got my six."
Still the 300 was quite an accomplishmet for Jordan, whose first perfect game came 12 years ago at Skyway Bowl.
"I think it might have been one of the last ones bowled over there," said Jordan. "And it was a far cry from last Wednesday. I added a 289 game and shot a 775."
Jordan took his time on his final ball.
"I learned my lesson the last time I had 11 in a row two years ago," said Jordan. "I didn't rush the shot and I made sure I set down on the approach."
BE IT tape-delayed, the top women bowlers in the world return to television Sunday afternoon with the quarterfinals of the 2007 U.S. Women's Open.

JORDAN'S 300 was the top single effort rolled last week, but there were a number other nice games and series turned in.
Donnie Zuhoski and Jack Lien led the week with identical 706 sets. Zuhoski, bowling in Little's Straight-A-Way League, went 268, 225 for his series. Lien, in the 725 Classified at Little's, turned in a 243 and a nice 290 game.
Doris Kimmerle set the pace for the women with a 700 series, spiced by games of 208, 247, and 245. Kimmerle was also bowling in the 725 Classified.
At the Elks, no big series were posted but John Toenyes had a 247 game in the Bull Elks and Nobi Sirucek rolled a 224 in the Friday Mixed to earn honors.
Larry Taylor, bowling in the Wednesday Men's Handicap, was high for the men at Murph's with games of 236 and 237. Diana Mans, in the SkyRaiders, registered a 204 game.
Rock Rayl and Sirucek earned honors at Pin & Cue.
Rayl, bowling in the Wednesday Mixed, opened the season with a 246 game and 615 series. Sirucek's 545 series, also in the Wednesday Mixed, claimed women's honors.
Collette Caffyn's 258 game also deserves a mention from the westside.
